Northrop Grumman is seeking Structural Engineers for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector.
Roles and Responsibilities
Performing static and dynamic structure analysis.
Reviewing requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems.
Selecting appropriate technical information and data from applicable products.
Determining the technical principles involved, identifying the design path forward and computing the engineering characteristics to ensure consistency with the specifications design needs and requirements of space applications.
Releasing results as “technical documents” after review by the senior members of the team.
Developing innovative solutions and elaborating on design concepts.
Evaluating completed designs with supervisor and other technical groups, and making modifications necessary to achieve the most ideal design.
Developing, coordinating, and conducting test programs required to evaluate design work
Basic Qualifications
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027
Be majoring in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date. However, this timeline may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.
