Co-op internship in AES US Utilities – T&D Standards & Innovation. Supports DOE-funded projects focused on grid protection and control technologies, grid operation and planning modeling and simulation, and grid analytics for DERs and EVs. Responsibilities include developing hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing plans, modeling, software analysis with PSSE/PSCAD/CYME/DSA Tools and Aspen/CAPE, and supporting equipment evaluations, design practices, and construction standards. Requires a second-year master's or PhD student in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with strong academics; familiarity with power flow equations, symmetrical components, and power system stability; and proficiency in at least one programming language.
