Cyber Testing Intern - Summer 2027

Cyber Risk and Data Protection Consulting Intern for RSM in Des Moines. The intern will work with security and privacy teams to assess client networks, hosts, and applications; perform analysis and testing of mobile and web applications; conduct internet penetration testing using blackbox and whitebox methods; review configurations; measure and report clients’ compliance with established industry or government requirements; identify leaked client data from open and closed sources; engage in threat intelligence programs; and communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences. Basic qualifications include pursuing a B.A. or B.S. degree in computer science, information technology, information systems management, information security, intelligence, digital forensics, cybersecurity or related fields; technical background in cybersecurity; and programming/scripting experience (e.g., Perl, Python, Java, C, PHP). Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with security tools such as AppScan, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nessus, Kali Linux, and familiarity with OS/network security concepts.
