General Summary:
The summer intern will work at the NY Office on the Northeast Development Team and be responsible for general projects within the group. The intern may assist with market analysis, underwriting a potential acquisition deal, obtaining comparable project data, or assisting with the marketing and lease-up of a new apartment community. The intern will also be expected to complete administrative projects as needed. It is also expected for the intern to have the desire to work in the real estate industry post-graduation.
This full-time (33 -35 hours/week) internship opportunity will be performed in-office at Rockefeller Group headquarters located in Midtown Manhattan. Housing and transportation are the responsibility of the candidate. This internship will run during the summer of 2027, from Tuesday, June 1, 2027, through Friday, August 6, 2027.
Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
A list of possible projects may include, but are not limited to the following:
Due diligence review of potential new deal
Assisting with analysis on new deal underwriting
Researching and sourcing on and off market development sites using databases
Market research of different neighborhoods in NYC-metro area for potential future acquisitions
Participating in branding and lease-up efforts for new apartment community
Assisting Development Team to manage construction completion of new project
Supporting Development Team to manage project budget and financial reporting
Miscellaneous project analyses or data input as needed
Creating agenda/attending project meeting as required
Education Requirements:
Must be a candidate for a bachelor’s degree entering junior or senior year. Undergraduates only.
Major in finance, real estate or business is preferred.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills Requirements:
Have an interest in real estate and the desire to work in the real estate industry post-graduation
Possess analytical abilities
A driven, motivated, and cooperative attitude
Must have attention-to-detail and excellent organizational skills
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Must have strong time management skills
Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team
Excellent computer skills are required. Knowledge of relevant operations software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
