DVM Student Externship/Preceptorship Program — Ark Veterinary Hospital (Urgent Care)

DVM student externship/preceptorship program at Ark Veterinary Hospital (Urgent Care) in Henrietta, NY. Externships range from 2 to 8 weeks (typically 2–3 weeks) with days, evenings, and weekends. A stipend of $250 per week is provided. Externs work under supervision to gain experience in gathering histories, performing physical exams, developing diagnostic/therapeutic plans, scrubbing in to surgery, managing medical cases, providing wellness care, client communication, and maintaining medical records. Requirements: enrolled in an accredited DVM program; authorized to work in the United States; must carry AVMA PLIT liability insurance. On-site externship with mentor supervision and a written evaluation at the end.
