This position is a 2027 Summer/Fall Engineering Co-op at Collins Aerospace for a student majoring in Electrical Engineering with interests in hardware design/support. This position provides the opportunity for you to broaden your background with a practical approach to engineering. The primary goal for you is to merge your theoretical knowledge gained in school with practical engineering applications. Our team is responsible for hardware design support and development of digital and analog circuitry for embedded systems utilizing Multicore Processors, memory devices, FPGAs, Networking Components, high speed interfaces and analog devices on Commercial Avionics and Business and Regional Avionics platforms. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work in our growing team of engineers supporting and designing state-of-the-art, industry-leading multicore processing for Graphics Generation, Displays.  Our team designs and supports the hardware for Network Switches, Display Processing Computers, Multi-module Cabinet and Communication Management products. This position is intended to include design engineering and factory, field, and customer related support to achieve a healthy understanding of the product lifecycle.

This is an onsite position based out of our Cedar Rapids, IA site location. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June- December.

What You Will Do:

You will assist Senior Electrical Engineers in the design, development, support and documentation associated with both digital and analog circuitry.

You will lean in to the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills of all phases of electrical hardware design, including requirements capture, design, layout, test/verification, integration, factory transition, and factory support.

You will do analog and digital electronics design and testing.

You will work on component analysis and troubleshooting of electronic circuitry.

Electrical Engineers at Collins Aerospace perform activities that span all phases of the hardware development lifecycle, including requirements capture, design, integration, verification, factory transition, and customer interface.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Experience with digital circuit design parameters (e.g., throughput, rise time, clock frequencies, propagation delay).

Experience with computer hardware components (e.g., processors, memory, interfaces), and characteristics (throughput, processing architecture, timing).

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
