Job Description Summary

Job Description DUTIES & RESPONSILIBITIES

Installs & repairs pipes, fixtures, and valves, for water, gas, steam, and air systems.

Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.

Assembles fittings and valves for installation.

Modifies length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed.

Uses saws and pipe cutters as necessary.

Installs heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters.

Collaborates with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing systems.

Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts.

Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems.

Analyses problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair.

Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes.

Work at heights in scissor lifts and boom lifts

Operate fork trucks for material movement and unloading of deliveries

Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies

Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices

Order materials and parts for job execution

Use current CMMS work order system to process and complete job assignments

Access Building Management System to review HVAC systems and make changes if needed

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma/GED

1-year basic plumbing work experience

Valid Driver’s License

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

2-years commercial plumbing work experience

Plumbing training certificate from BOCES Votec or equivalent

The base pay rate is $29.12/hr and will increase on progression ($37.11/hr - $45.64/hr) upon completion of training. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases, COLA increases and a $1/hr night shift bonus.
