Position Role Type: Unspecified
Fast track your career on breakthrough Defence projects
Gain hands-on experience from concept to delivery
Learn from the best in a high calibre team with great benefits and professional development
Are you fascinated by technology? Ever wondered how complex systems are designed, delivered, maintained, and improved throughout their life? As a Product Support Engineer you'll work at the intersection of engineering, technology, and people. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the full lifecycle of complex systems, from understanding user requirements through to sustainment and continuous improvement.
At Raytheon Australia we’re looking for Graduate or Early Career Engineers who are curious, analytical, and eager to learn through applying their mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering knowledge whilst also developing a specialist career in Product Support Engineering. This lesser-known engineering discipline is highly sought after across Defence and Commercial industry, so whether your interests lie in advanced technology, data analysis, engineering design, logistics, asset management or reliability, this role will help you discover where your strengths and passions lie.
Why This Role Is Different
Most graduate positions funnel you into a single specialty from day one. We believe the best engineers start by understanding the bigger picture. Reporting to both the Integrated Product Support Manager and an Engineering Manager of your field of study, you will receive training in both disciplines
Through a 3-year program, you will be supported by experienced Product Support Engineers, technical specialists and engineering leaders, gaining exposure to everything from system design to reliability, safety, sustainment, operations, and lifecycle management to discover numerous future career path opportunities within Raytheon Australia. If after the end of the development program you decide that Product Support engineering isn’t for you, you have foundation of knowledge to serve your career
You will have the opportunity to provide support to multiple engineering programs within Raytheon Australia across Air, Sea and Land domains
Interact with a broad range of stakeholders, including engineers, military operators, technicians, maintainers, and customers (Submariners, Sailors, Pilots, Electronic Warfare Operators) who contribute to the design, development, operation and support of these systems.
Within Product Support you will learn how engineering decisions impact the whole system lifecycle, contributing to the development of reliable and maintainable systems, analyse user needs to develop practical support solutions for complex systems, and you will use data analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Opportunity to travel within Australia to attend integration, test and evaluation events of complex systems
What Skills We're Looking For
We're less interested in what engineering discipline you studied and more interested in how you think. You might be a great fit if you:
Have recently completed or are about to complete an Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Aerospace or related field.
Enjoy understanding how things work, are naturally curious and ask great questions.
Like solving problems that don't have obvious answers.
Enjoy learning new technologies and tools.
Can communicate technical concepts and ideas clearly.
Are comfortable challenging assumptions
Are motivated to develop your skills and career.
