Grocery Manager – Red River Co-op at Gimli Food Store

The Opportunity

Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Grocery Manager at our food store in Gimli, Manitoba. This position reports to the Store Manager. The Grocery Manager adds value to our Co-operative by providing leadership and direction to all aspects of centre store operations.

Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

Provide leadership and direction in the execution of financial results and store budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, expenses and profits.

Ensure standards of department presentation and operations are met, including cleanliness and sanitation, merchandising, inventory control, purchasing, and the delivery of world-class customer service.

Provide leadership in employee relations, including hiring, training, development, performance management, discipline, and administration of co-op policies.

Build and maintain a strong culture of employee and customer engagement within the department.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

A minimum of three years of retail experience. Previous retail management experience is an asset.

Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

Excellent interpersonal skills, with a special skill of motivating employees to achieve strong results.

A solid understanding of computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
