As a Group Tax Advisory Intern, you'll work alongside tax professionals supporting a wide range of tax matters across the bank, from corporate tax and transfer pricing to tax governance and regulatory compliance. Your attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and interest in leveraging technology to improve processes will help you deliver meaningful contributions while developing a strong foundation in tax and financial services.
What You Do
Your responsibilities will include:
Tax Advisory Support: assist in tax projects across multiple tax disciplines, including Transfer Pricing, Corporate Tax, and Goods and Services Tax (GST), while collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation
Stakeholder Engagement: work closely with business and support functions to gather information, understand business processes, and support tax-related initiatives
Digital Transformation Initiatives: support AI and automation readiness initiatives by mapping business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and enhancing data readiness for future transformation efforts
Process Documentation: assist in documenting workflows, procedures, and controls to support operational efficiency and governance requirements
Tax Governance & Controls: support tax governance activities, including control reviews, testing procedures, process walkthroughs, and documentation of observations and findings
Data Analysis & Reporting: assist in analysing tax-related data and preparing reports, presentations, and management materials to support decision-making
Continuous Improvement: identify opportunities to streamline processes and support the adoption of technology-enabled solutions within the tax function
Ad-hoc Projects: provide support on tax, governance, transformation, and process improvement initiatives as assigned
Who You Work With
Group Tax Advisory partners businesses and functions across the bank to provide tax advice, manage tax risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations. You'll work alongside professionals specialising in Tax Governance, Planning & Incentives, and Transfer Pricing, gaining valuable exposure to how tax considerations support strategic business decisions. You'll also collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Technology, and Business units, providing a broad perspective of how the bank operates.

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working with data and process documentation
Able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across functions
Interest in digital transformation, AI, automation, and process improvement initiatives
Completion of a Taxation module would be advantageous
Familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, Excel VBA, or other automation tools would be beneficial
Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree

Experience supporting AI, automation, and digital transformation initiatives within a corporate environment
Opportunities to develop process mapping, documentation, data analysis, and reporting skills
Exposure to stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration within a complex organisation
