The Opportunity: Financial Risk Management
he primary mandate of the Financial Risk Management (FRM) group is to help clients identify, measure and manage market risk, credit risk and operational risk arising during their business activities and using derivative and non-derivative financial instruments.
A career in our Financial Risk Management (Valuation/Market Risk) group will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to a variety of risk management, regulatory, valuation/pricing, and financial analyses services to design solutions that address our clients’ regulatory, risk management and financial reporting challenges, as well as their broader business issues.
What you’ll create and do:
You’ll work with a team of seasoned quants on projects with quantitative focus, helping clients with capital market financial instrument valuation, model validation, derivative pricing, etc. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Independent valuation of financial derivatives and financial instruments
Model validation and risk management advisory
Assisting clients with hedging strategies and appropriate use of derivative instruments
What you’ll bring to this role:
Experience or an academic background in derivative or financial instrument valuation is preferred. Candidates with a strong interest in developing expertise in how derivatives and financial instruments are structured and valued are also encouraged to apply.
Master’s degree (or currently enrollment) in financial engineering, statistics, math or a similar quantitative discipline.
Experience with creating financial models utilizing strong programming skills in Python, Matlab, Visual Basic, or similar languages; C++ experience is a plus but not required.
Banking/treasury risk management experience or derivative valuation advisory experience is an asset.
Experience with modeling interest rate, FX, equity or counterparty credit risk is an asset.
Experience with Value at Risk (VAR) is an asset.
Experience with credit risk modeling is an asset.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively through written materials, presentations, and verbal discussions.
Ability to interact well with others in a professional, team-oriented, client service environment.

The salary range for this position is $62,000 - $72,000. Eligible employees will also have the opportunity to participate in our performance pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
