Playtech Development team looking for a curious, motivated and open-minded Junior Java Developer who is excited to start or grow their career in software development. You’ll join an experienced development team where you’ll have the opportunity to work on real products, learn from experienced colleagues, and gradually take ownership of your work.

To support successful onboarding and integration into the team, employees are expected to work from the office during the first month of employment. Following the onboarding period, the role transitions to a hybrid work model, consisting of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days working remotely.

Job Description

Your influential mission. You will...

Develop and maintain Java-based components and features with the support of experienced developers

Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from understanding requirements to implementation, testing and deployment

Write clean, readable and maintainable code following the team’s coding standards

Investigate and fix bugs and contribute to improving existing functionality

Work closely with Java developers, QA engineers and other team members

Learn and apply software development best practices, design principles and development tools

Participate in code reviews and technical discussions

Contribute to automation and improvements that make the team’s work more efficient

Use AI-powered tools to improve productivity, explore solutions, automate repetitive tasks and support your day-to-day development work

Learn how to use AI responsibly and effectively as part of modern software development

Actively participate in the Agile Scrum process

Continuously develop your technical skills and share your knowledge as you grow

Qualifications

Have a good understanding of Java fundamentals and Java Core

Understand the basic principles of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)

Have basic knowledge of data structures and algorithms

Have some experience with SQL and relational databases

Understand the basics of software development and version control (Git)

Have some understanding of unit testing and why automated tests are important

Have academic, personal or professional experience developing software in Java

Are willing to learn Spring / Spring Boot and other technologies used by the team

Are comfortable working as part of a team and asking questions when you need help

Have good communication skills in English

You don't need to know everything. We are looking for a strong technical foundation, curiosity and the ability to learn and grow.
