Junior Software Engineer

The Junior Full Stack Software Engineer will support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) by performing software activities focused on creating web-based tools aimed at decreasing user friction and improving usability of existing complex Modeling and Simulation systems. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate experience and an eye for clean layouts, typography, and intuitive user workflows via personal portfolio or open-source contributions.

While work from home is available, once the candidate holds a TS/SCI security clearance it is expected to work onsite at Wright Patterson AFB, at a minimum once a week.

Job Responsibilities

Design and implement new capabilities

Resolve issues found in existing code

Integrate capabilities with external services and tools

Communicate status and technical details with customers

Collaborate directly with the customer to drive requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or relevant STEM field

3.0 GPA or higher. (GPA must be on resume to be considered).

U.S Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance

Required Experience

0-2 years of Experience with web front end development using React or Angular

0-2years of Experience with server-side languages, such as NodeJS, Python

0-2 years of Experience with version control software (ex Git)

Required Skills

Ability to communicate technical details of work

Ability to work in a dynamic environment and take ownership for segments of a project

Desired Experience

Secret Security Clearance or higher is a plus but not required

Experience working with simulation frameworks, such as AFSIM, ITASE and/or NGTS

Experience with Docker (containerized deployment) is a plus

Experience utilizing NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB is a plus

Experience with Kubernetes is a plus

Experience with CI/CD pipelines utilizing Gitlab CI or Jenkins is a plus

Experience with HELM is a plus

Experience with bug/issue tracking software such as JIRA is a plus

Experience with RESTful web services is a plus
