POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is located at Milliken Limestone Plant in Gaffney, SC, and will report to the Process Improvement Manager and department manager. This role will provide the candidate with exposure to leading continuous improvement efforts at the site in our slashing department and the key role it has in the development and implementation of manufacturing process improvements, driving new performance levels, improving quality, consistency and cost. The goal of this project will be to implement manufacturing best practices in our slashing department to reduce downtimes and optimize size formulas to improve our warp run ability.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop a thorough understanding of all factors and conditions that impact the processes and products, including environmental impacts
Use sound project management skills to manage assigned internship project
Analyze problems and implement solutions using critical thinking skills and focused improvement methods
Incorporate creative thinking into the problem-solving approach to identify unique and different ways to make things better/more consistent/faster/cheaper/efficient
Prepare diagrams, charts, tables to reflect findings and support recommendations
Communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of associates to accomplish project and location goals
Participate fully in the Safety Process
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
Rising Junior or Senior working toward a BS Degree in Textile, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related field
Detail oriented
Strong organizational and communication skills
The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:
