Responsibilities:

Support maintenance activities under the guidance of experienced technicians, including assisting with equipment inspection, preventative maintenance, and basic repair tasks

Participate in both mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to develop multi-craft skills and understanding of plant systems

Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues by observing, supporting, and learning diagnostic processes used by maintenance technicians

Follow all established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and safe maintenance practices

Observe and assist with equipment disassembly, repair, and reassembly activities to build technical knowledge and hands-on capability

Support documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and basic reporting requirements

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards

Participate in structured mentorship phases, including both mechanical and electrical rotations, to develop a broad understanding of maintenance operations

Attend and complete required coursework through an approved Mechatronics Engineering Technology program while applying learned concepts in the workplace

Demonstrate a willingness to learn, take direction, and actively engage in both academic and hands-on training components

Demonstrate ownership of safety, learning progression, and adherence to established maintenance procedures

Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of training and development in maintenance operations

Qualifications:

Education and /or Work Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Enrollment in, or willingness to enroll in, an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) program in Mechatronics Engineering Technology or a related field

Strong interest in mechanical and electrical systems and maintenance operations

Ability to follow instructions, learn new tasks, and apply technical concepts

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Basic math skills and ability to read measuring devices preferred

Must be able to work well with others and in a diverse workforce environment

Physical requirements:

Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Prolonged periods of standing

Ability to sit, stand for the majority of the shift

Ability to walk, jump, twist, turn, stop, bend, push, pull, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, balance, drive, reach above shoulder, repetitive hand/wrist movement, forearm rotation.

Manual dexterity to assist with equipment maintenance and tool use

Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment

Must be able to pass physical requirements to drive a forklift
