Veterinary Student Externship at Mount Airy Veterinary Associates. Externs receive mentorship from multiple veterinarians, gain experience in wellness and dentistry, work with exotics, and learn basic soft tissue and ophthalmic surgeries. The hospital is fully equipped with in-house lab, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and therapeutic laser. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary school (DVM or VMD). A stipend is provided to offset housing and travel costs.
