Job Summary

North Anna is looking for a Mechanical Engineering intern for the summer of 2027 to support Maintenance Support Engineering group functions. Accepted candidate will work closely with Operations and Maintenance personnel in development of maintenance strategies and troubleshooting of mechanical components, including but not limited to pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.  Accepted candidate will also support refuel outage planning activities for motor operated valves (MOV), air operated valves (AOV), and check valves. Examples of field work opportunities include internal inspection of valves and heat exchangers, valve and pump packing support, and exposure to vibration monitoring.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Experience with Microsoft Office products is desired.

Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Solid engineering skills, commensurate with grade level.

Good communication skills, technical writing skills, and computer skills.

An inquisitive nature, an ability to follow written and verbal directions, and strong professional ethics.

Education Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in an ABET accredited Bachelor's degree program majoring in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above

Must have a graduation date of fall 2028 or later

Hourly Rate

$23.00 - $29.00

The hourly rate listed is the rate we anticipate paying for this position. If a range is listed, the actual hourly rate offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's degree type, academic major, and/or school classification (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior).
