Ophthalmic Tech Trainee role at the University of Rochester Ophthalmology department, on-site at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642. Compensation range $18.00-$23.81 per hour (per diem). Under supervision of certified ophthalmic technicians, the trainee will learn essential diagnostic skills and imaging, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, refraction, pupil dilation, automated refractions, and OCT imaging. Responsibilities include preparing patients, maintaining equipment, sterilizing rooms, documenting in the EMR, and performing related administrative tasks. Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent; previous healthcare or clinical experience preferred.
