About the role:
As a Pharmaceutical Sciences Intern at Boston Scientific, you will help develop and characterize drug-eluting formulations and coatings that improve patient outcomes in vascular interventions. You’ll apply principles of pharmaceutical sciences, drug delivery, chemistry, and materials science to understand how drug properties, formulation, processing, and device design influence product performance. You’ll work with experts while sharing your findings with project teams, managers, and senior leadership. This internship offers the chance to make visible contributions in a high-impact area of the company. We seek a self-starter who thrives in the lab, tackles open-ended problems, and communicates science clearly across all levels of the organization.
The role is based in Maple Grove, MN and follows an onsite work model.
Your responsibilities will include:
Design and execute laboratory experiments to develop, characterize, and optimize drug formulations, coatings, and test methods, including investigating relationships between drug physicochemical properties, formulation composition, processing conditions, and product performance.
Perform analytical testing and data analysis (e.g. HPLC, imaging, microscopy, or similar methods) to evaluate formulation, coating, and drug-product performance and interpret results with statistical rigor.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, scientists, and technicians to address pharmaceutical science and chemistry challenges across exploratory, technology development, or product development projects.
Document and communicate results through technical reports, presentations, and discussions with senior staff, project teams, and leadership.
Contribute to innovation and problem-solving by identifying opportunities to improve formulations, test methods, or scientific understanding.
Operate as a self-starter by independently driving project tasks forward while seeking guidance and mentorship on BSC systems and resources.
