Physical Production Trainee - SPT

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship Program offers a unique opportunity to gain experience within the Sony Physical Production department offices on the Sony lot, working alongside the talented teams that bring Sony Pictures Television shows to life. Current projects include acclaimed series such as THE BOYS, THE NIGHT AGENT, FOR ALL MANKIND, GEN V, and SWAT EXILES.

Candidates must be available to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling to accommodate school commitments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·    Manage high volume calendaring

·    Phones

·    Organize various production documents

·    Grids

·    Book travel and other aspects of physical production

QUALIFICATIONS:

Background in film production

Examples:

Responsibilities

Read scripts and support production activities, including set breakdowns, location research, and preparation for scheduling.

Support department coordinators with active productions by tracking progress, script revisions, and document distribution.

Provide day-to-day administrative and project support to help the department operate effectively and efficiently.

Research and compile crew and stage availability using domestic and international industry resources.

Participate in production meetings and gain exposure to Production Office and on-set processes, procedures, and terminology.

Learn how Physical Production collaborates with Finance, Post-Production, Visual Effects, and other teams throughout the filmmaking process.

Qualifications

Strong interest in feature film production and the physical production side of filmmaking.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and curiosity about content creation and production.

Interest in researching film incentives, rebate programs, and other domestic and international production considerations.

Willingness to take initiative, ask questions, seek clarification, and learn new processes and industry terminology.

Interest in current films and industry trends and how they inform production decisions.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $22/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
