This is a 12-week internship during summer 2027.

As an intern on the Policy team, you'll get hands-on exposure to how Coinbase shapes crypto policy in Washington and beyond. Depending on where the team needs support, you may spend the summer on more outward-facing, community engagement work, or on more technical, research-driven policy analysis — sometimes a mix of both. The strongest candidates genuinely care about digital assets policy, work well with others, and can flex between hands-on advocacy work and detailed technical analysis depending on what the team needs that week.

What you'll do:

Support a mix of policy workstreams, from advocacy, community engagement, and stakeholder outreach to technical research, regulatory analysis, and briefing materials

Draft policy materials such as talking points, white papers, social media posts, presentation decks, and short and long-form articles for external audiences

Conduct research on legislative, regulatory, and policy developments and synthesize findings into actionable briefs for the Policy team

Provide operational support on key deliverables including drafting, proofreading, data compilation, and project coordination

Required Skills and Experience:

A collaborative team player who can flex between grassroots/community-facing work and more technical, substantive research depending on team needs

Comfortable operating in ambiguity, able to make progress on undefined or evolving problems without needing every detail spelled out

Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in public policy, political science, law, international relations, or a related field, with a genuine interest in US policy and government

Demonstrated research capability, including experience producing written analysis of legislative, regulatory, or policy topics (academic or professional)

A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables with minimal supervision over a 12-week engagement

Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Hourly Rate:

$40—$40 USD
