Leidos is hiring for a Relay Settings Intern to join our diverse and fast-paced organization. As a core team member, you will be interacting with other electric utility disciplines, playing a valuable part in leading and designing utility substation and renewable energy projects.
Remote: Position is open to remote candidates who are pursuing BSEE degrees.
What you’ll be doing:
Work with protection engineers and perform quality reviews on relay setting packages
Create logic diagrams for IEC61850 substations
Work directly with clients as well as other staff in remote office locations
Support a full range of project planning activities through design and construction support
Prepare relay settings from 4.16kV through 500kV including relay set points, logic diagrams, configuration files and documentation
Solving challenging substation engineering problems
What does Leidos need from me?
Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited institution and internship experience.
Eagerness to learn to: Develop relay settings and logic diagrams
Use Aspen OneLiner and/or Siemen’s CAPE for coordination studies and fault study analysis
Prepare protective relay coordination studies
Strong engineering and interpersonal skills and high attention to detail with a passion for quality
Favorable if you have:
Experience in preparing technical reports
Experience understanding power system protection
Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced team environment

Pay Range:Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
