Research Fellow to lead the operational research programme at Taiaho Observatory, the University of Auckland’s free-space optical communications ground station at Ardmore Field Station. This is a full-time (40 hrs per week), 26-month fixed-term role based in Auckland, NZ. Remuneration is from NZD 99,788 to 106,259 per annum. The role focuses on operating the telescope and observatory systems, coordinating experiments with the Australasian Optical Ground Station Network, planning satellite-pass campaigns, data analysis, and developing operational procedures. Occasional evening/night/weekend observations and some travel within New Zealand and internationally may be required.
