Our Engineering Roles

Expedia Group has multiple Engineering specializations. The specializations we currently hire for are below. You will have the opportunity to express interest in any of these specializations during the application process. While successful candidates will be aligned to one of the below, you will have opportunities to work across these specializations depending on project availability and your own interests.

Software Development - Design and launch Frontend, Backend, and Full Stack solutions impacting critical business systems.

Data Engineering - Design scalable, cloud-native solutions with a focus on DevOps and automation.

Machine Learning Engineering – Design, build, and support scalable ML systems and pipelines, with exposure to production machine learning practices such as CI/CD, testing, validation, reproducibility, and monitoring.

In this role you will

Travel is so much more than simply reaching your destination. Along the journey, you'll utilize your technical skills to develop next-generation technologies through our web applications and e-commerce sites. You will be empowered to make an immediate impact by creating high-volume, scalable solutions and work with teams to iterate on features quickly and efficiently. From the back-end supply and database functions to new user interfaces for more than 140 branded travel sites, there is no shortage of opportunity for technical innovation at Expedia Group.

Design, develop, and test software components and services under the guidance of more experienced engineers, contributing to well-scoped features and improvements.

Implement clean, maintainable code using standard software engineering practices, including unit testing, code reviews, and basic debugging.

Participate in low-level system design, API design, and data modeling for assigned tasks, learning how to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Collaborate with peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners to understand requirements, break down work, and deliver incremental value.

Apply fundamental data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving techniques to improve code quality, performance, and reliability.

Leverage AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows, including safely integrating and operating AI/ML‑enabled solutions to improve outcomes within defined guidance and scope.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be available to commit to the full program dates: 21st June – 27th August 2027

Must be graduating with an undergraduate or master’s degree in a technical subject (e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology) between December 2027 and July 2028

Must be willing to relocate to the city of the job location if outside commuting distance and be graduating from a university in the same country as the internship location.

Must have no more than 2 years of professional experience in a similar role.
