Insight Magazine is a student-run feature magazine at the University of Nevada, Reno. The Staff Writer produces written content for Insight’s print magazine and website, writing 2-3 articles per volume and online-specific content when necessary. Articles range from 400 to 1,000 words and must adhere to deadlines set by the Editor-in-Chief and Copy Editor. The Staff Writer helps ensure volunteer writers adhere to the selected theme and will work with the Copy Editor to improve their writing. All staff attend weekly team meetings. For submission, 2 written work samples must be combined into one document. Schedule: expected hours per week: 6. Compensation: $12.00/hour. Exempt: Full-Time Equivalent 25% is noted in the posting.
