About the Role
BWE's Digital Enablement team is looking for a Summer Intern who wants hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of a digital solution — from understanding a business problem, to designing an AI-powered or reporting solution, to building the data pipelines that make it work. This role sits at the intersection of three disciplines: business analysis, applied AI/application development, and data engineering (Databricks). It's a great fit for a student who's curious across all three areas rather than narrowly focused on just one.
You'll work directly with business stakeholders to understand their needs, help shape and build custom applications or reporting tools that meet those needs, and support the data integrations that power them behind the scenes. Depending upon your background, we will focus your internship experience either on the business or engineering aspect of the department while giving you exposure to your non-focus area.
What You'll Do
Requirements & Business Analysis
Participate in stakeholder meetings to learn how the business gathers and documents requirements
Help translate business needs into clear user stories, process flows, and functional specs
Support documentation of current-state vs. future-state processes for digital initiatives
AI & Application Development
Assist in building custom applications and reporting solutions based on gathered requirements
Support prototyping of AI-driven features (e.g., automation, natural language interfaces, predictive insights)
Help test and refine solutions based on stakeholder feedback
Data & Integration
Support the design and build of integrations between business applications and data platforms
Gain hands-on exposure to Databricks — working with pipelines, notebooks, and data models
Help validate data flowing between systems to ensure accuracy and reliability

What You'll Gain
