Summer Associate Internship (Product Security Engineer)

Location: Vienna, VA, United States Department: Interns
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
Conduct research and basic analysis on cybersecurity exposure topics using approved information sources and tools.
Collect, organize, and review data for completeness, quality, and recurring patterns.
Assist with documenting findings, observations, assumptions, decisions, and recommended next steps.
Create clear written and visual summaries for technical and non-technical audiences.
Participate in team meetings, working sessions, demonstrations, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Collaborate with EAV team members and partner teams to understand how security issues are identified, prioritized, validated, tracked, and communicated.
Follow established security, privacy, data handling, change management, and acceptable use requirements.
Complete an end-of-program deliverable or presentation summarizing the project, approach, lessons learned, and potential value to the organization.
Currently pursuing an associate, bachelor’s, or graduate degree from an accredited college or university in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, data analytics, engineering, risk management, or a related field.
Interest in cybersecurity, technology risk, data analysis, research, or process improvement.
Foundational understanding of one or more technology or security concepts. Classroom, lab, personal-project, volunteer, or prior work experience is welcome but not required.
Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Curiosity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and willingness to ask questions and learn.
Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, accept feedback, and contribute both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle information responsibly and follow established procedures.
Desired Qualifications
Exposure to cloud platforms, scripting, data visualization, vulnerability management, security tools, or common cybersecurity frameworks.
Experience with spreadsheets, presentations, documentation platforms, query languages, or basic automation.
Participation in cybersecurity clubs, competitions, labs, coursework, certifications, or personal technology projects.
