Summer 2027 Internship Program
Launch your career through a hands-on summer internship experience with JTI Liggett in Raleigh, North Carolina. Our Summer Internship Program provides students and recent graduates with an opportunity to contribute to meaningful business projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and build practical skills within a global organization.
Available Internship Opportunities
People & Culture
Support employee experience, rewards, engagement, and process improvement initiatives. The intern will help coordinate employee wellness initiatives, support the implementation of an employee recognition program, assist with Employee Engagement Survey data maintenance and validation, and develop communication templates and content calendars for People & Culture programs.
Corporate Affairs & Communications; Government Affairs
Gain practical experience in public policy and government affairs by supporting legislative and regulatory monitoring, policy research, stakeholder engagement, advocacy material development, and internal reporting. The intern will complete a policy or advocacy-focused project that involves legislative trend analysis, stakeholder mapping, advocacy tools, association engagement research, and improvements to policy tracking and reporting processes.
Corporate Affairs & Communications; Communications
Contribute to internal and external communication initiatives, including content creation, event support, employee communications, and coordination with creative agencies and production partners. The intern will explore opportunities to enhance storytelling, audience engagement, communication processes, and the thoughtful use of emerging technologies, including AI.
Marketing; Digital Marketing
Support a competitive benchmarking project focused on branded websites across relevant product categories. The intern will evaluate areas such as user experience, loyalty and rewards programs, content, social media, consumer relevance, and potential friction points, then develop recommendations for future enhancements.
Marketing; Activation & Brand Partnerships
Research and benchmark competitor activations, one-to-one consumer engagement, festivals, sponsorships, and partnership activities. The intern will evaluate how these activities support consumer relevance and brand positioning, and find opportunities for future enhancement.
Marketing; Brand Portfolio & Pricing
Help develop a clear view of the competitive brand landscape through research, analytics, and visual brand boards. The intern will examine product trends and support the development of assets for new marketing campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Complete a defined internship project that addresses a meaningful business opportunity.
Collaborate with colleagues within the assigned function and across the organization.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and recommendations.
Prepare project deliverables and present findings and proposed next steps.
Support day-to-day activities as needed within the assigned function.
Participate in internship events, networking opportunities, and professional development activities during working hours.
Stay informed about relevant industry developments, emerging technologies, and business practices.
Qualifications
Current junior or senior in good standing in a bachelor’s degree program.
Current graduate student with at least one semester remaining in their program, or a recent bachelor’s degree graduate within one year of graduation.
Academic background related to the selected internship area is preferred.
Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.
Interest in working within a multinational organization.
Previous professional experience is not required.
