Welcome from the Principal

Thank you for your interest in joining Outwood Academy Normanby. We are delighted you are considering joining our team and I am proud to share more about our academy, our community, and the exciting opportunities that await you here.

Outwood Academy Normanby serves the communities of Normanby, South Bank, Grangetown and Eston in Teesside. These are communities with a rich history and a strong sense of local pride. Like many areas, they also face socio-economic challenges. This context means that our students arrive with a diverse range of experiences and starting points. This presents a unique and deeply rewarding opportunity for educators who are passionate about making a real difference.

At Outwood Academy Normanby it is our clear intent that all students deserve every opportunity to reach their full potential. This unwavering belief drives everything we do. We are committed to providing a high-quality education that equips our students with the knowledge, skills, and determination they need to succeed in life.

Working at Outwood Academy Normanby is not without its challenges. You will be teaching and nurturing students who may have experienced significant disadvantages, and who may require additional support to overcome barriers to learning. You will need to be adaptable, resilient, and possess a genuine commitment to inclusive practices. You will need to be creative in your approach to teaching and learning, and be willing to go the extra mile to ensure every student thrives.

However, the rewards of working in this community are immense. Seeing the progress our students make, witnessing their confidence grow, and knowing that you have played a part in shaping their futures is an incredibly powerful and fulfilling experience. We are a close-knit and supportive staff team who are dedicated to working together to achieve the best outcomes for our students. We invest heavily in the professional development of our staff, providing opportunities for growth and advancement within the Outwood Family of Schools.

We always recruit passionate and dedicated individuals who share our vision and are committed to making a tangible and sustained difference to the lives of our students. If you are ready to embrace the challenges and celebrate the rewards of working in our community, we would be delighted to receive your application.
