Internship end date: August 20, 2026

Reports to: Sr. Underwriter

Travel: 0-10%

Salary: $22.00/hr.

Location: Chicago, IL, In-office

Role responsibilities

Partner with underwriters to review insurance submissions and understand what makes a risk a good fit.

Learn the fundamentals of risk assessment, pricing, and underwriting strategy through real examples and team discussions.

Help organize underwriting information, update records, and keep key details accurate and easy to access.

Research industry trends, emerging risks, and market insights, then summarize findings for the team.

Contribute to team projects, meetings, and day-to-day coordination while building confidence in a professional business environment.

Key requirements

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Risk

Management, Business Administration, or a related field (graduating between December 2027 and May 2028)

Majoring in risk management, business, finance, or a related field is preferred.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Basic understanding of insurance principles is a plus.
