2027 Technology Internship - Valuation Services Software Engineer - 6-month Internship (January – July)

TD Securities are offering an exceptional opportunity to join a diverse and dynamic team through our 6-month Technology Internship on the Valuation Services Software Engineering team.

Internship Overview

Contract Type: Full-time, 6-Month Internship

Dates: January 2027 – July 2027

Location: Dublin Office: 1 Molesworth Street

Candidates must have an unrestricted right to work in Ireland throughout the entire duration of the internship.

Team Overview:

The Risk Platform Technology team is functionally aligned with the bank's risk appetite to drive towards best-in-class functionalities with alignment to business growth and data analytics priorities. Our team is an Engineering team to help drive these business outcomes while aligned to the bank's technology strategy.  Project involves creating a portal for internal and external clients with research that our front office strategy team is doing in an interactive fashion.

We are a highly collaborative agile team where everyone's perspective is heard and as a team, we strive for ongoing improvement and learning.  We strive to deliver technical solutions that are based on simple design, clean code, quality as a fundamental building block, and frequent user feedback. Our end-to-end solutions help create meaningful information from data, allowing our multiple stakeholders in the bank to make informed decisions.

How you will Contribute:

Design, develop and deploy system enhancements

Perform Unit and System Integration testing

Participate in Proof of Concept (POC) on new technologies and document findings

Assist in the development/maintenance of comprehensive processes for prevention of issues and participate in problem determination and timely resolution of incidents applying appropriate quality measures

Work with business partners to define and develop detailed business requirements

Document system deployment plans for system implement and code deployment

Provide recommendations with full usability analysis.

Respond to business and users' enquiries on business applications

Troubleshoot and determine root cause and resolution for application defects

Help enhancer quality and minimize defects by testing and debugging using available/appropriate tools and participate in reviewing peer coding

Apply Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Methodology (PMLC) to complete specific development tasks for projects.

Adhere to standard security coding practices to ensure application is free of most common coding vulnerabilities

Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise and keep current with leading-edge technologies trends/developments and develop expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery

Key Technologies:

The successful graduate will gain experience in:

Python to process data using pandas, numpy and Dask

Python to build APIs using FastAPI, Flask

Pytest framework

Plotly Dash (Python, CSS, JS) to visualize data

SQL Server, Dremio, Redis databases

Azure Cloud to run components

Jenkins to build and deploy

Vulnerability and code analysis

Splunk observability and monitoring

Jira/Confluence/GitHub to collaborate

Who we are looking for:

Penultimate year student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Bachelors or Masters programme.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative work ethic and a bias for action.

A thirst for constantly exploring emerging technology

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across teams and regions and deliver accurate results under time pressure

Strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills

Python coding and debugging

Pytest testing

Familiarity with source code management such as GIT

Design, develop and deploy system enhancements

Previous experience with the below considered an asset: DB skills e.g., SQL, RDBMS databases

API design and gRPC

FastAPI Framework

Familiarity with Cloud technologies and microservices architectures.
