We anticipate the need for one or more Advanced Step (2nd step or higher) Apprentice or Journeyman System Field Technician to be located at our Maple Grove Service Center in Maple Grove, Minnesota.  The starting rate of pay for the advanced step apprentice position is $42.98 hourly and $66.13 for the journeyman system field technician. This position will be posted for 10 Working days from October 1, 2026, to October 14, 2026.

Summary The applicant will be required to maintain Substation and Generating plant equipment in the five-state area. The four-year apprenticeship will require  Advanced Step Apprentice System Field Technician(s) to attain the necessary skills and qualifications to meet the Journeyman classification position. He/She will be required to have knowledge of all test equipment used by the SFT's today and in the future.  Physical demands include but are not limited to lifting 50 lbs, carrying, climbing, handling, kneeling, and reaching. This position involves both mechanical and electrical skills.

Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent

Computer experience & proficiency

Must be totally committed to safety, quality work, and customer service

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Proper Color perception

Obtain a Class A CDL driver's license with Hazardous Endorsement

Complete 4 years apprenticeship and training

Complete SFT Check off system

Will be required to work overtime and out of town assignments

Ability to work independently and with limited supervision

Must be comfortable working at heights up to 75 ft. and in confined spaces

Must work well with others and exhibit teamwork attitude

Must meet DOT and Nuclear requirements

Eligible candidates must have Station 1 and Station 2 electrician courses completed or an equivalent for the 5th step level apprentice.

Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $42.98 to $66.13 per hour
