We anticipate the need for one or more Gas Street Apprentice to be located at St. Paul Service Center in St. Paul, MN.

The hourly pay for this position is $33.89. This position will be posted for 10 working days from October 1, 2026, to October 14, 2026.

Summary

Gas Operations will be hiring one or more Gas Street Apprentice in the East Metro Minnesota area. These are manual labor positions associated with the installation, repair and maintenance of the gas distribution system.

Required

Applicant must be able to react effectively to gas emergencies.

Applicant must be able to read and understand distribution maps, design drawings, procedures, and related materials to provide information to field personnel.

Applicant must be able to coordinate multiple work activities effectively.

Applicant must be well versed in Company Operating, Construction, and Safety Standards.

This position is subject to the D.O.T. RSPA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.

This position is subject to being respirator qualified.

Applicant must have demonstrated experience working with heavy construction equipment.

Applicant must be fusion qualified.

Applicant must have teamwork, customer relations, and communication skills.

Applicant must have the ability to function under stress when investigating and repairing gas leaks involving public safety.

Applicant must have a valid Class A commercial driver’s license and meet FMSCR Parts 382 and 391 Driver Qualification Requirements.

Applicant must be willing to learn and use computer applications as technology provides systems for field employees, such as mobile data terminals.

Applicant must be willing to learn the safety and construction processes associated with electric, telephone, and cable installation.

Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $33.89 per hour
