Apprentice HV Electrician (Underground)

.

Who we are

We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.

When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.

What’s the opportunity?

Kick-start your career with a hands-on electrical apprenticeship at one of Western Australia's leading gold operations. As an Apprentice HV Electrician, you'll complete a structured four-year apprenticeship while gaining exposure to both high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, fixed plant infrastructure, electrical installations and maintenance activities across our Mungari Operations.

Working alongside experienced electricians and mentors, you'll develop the practical skills, safety knowledge and technical expertise required to become a qualified HV Electrician.

Based at our Mungari Operations and reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you'll:

Assist qualified electricians with planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance activities.

Support the inspection, testing, installation, repair and commissioning of electrical equipment and infrastructure.

Learn fault-finding and diagnostic techniques across electrical systems.

Participate in maintenance shutdowns and project work.

Complete trade school, practical training and competency assessments as part of your apprenticeship.

Develop your skills through structured on-the-job training and mentoring.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Follow electrical isolation, lock out/tag out and permit-to-work procedures.

Participate in safety initiatives, toolbox meetings and workplace inspections.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to learning, teamwork and safe work practices.

Why Mungari Operations?

Mungari is a cornerstone asset in our portfolio, with a mine life to at least 2038. It’s operationally diverse, with opportunities to work on the surface or underground and a great team of people who care. Our recent expansion of the processing plant has more than doubled processing capacity from 2 million to 4.2 million tonnes per year. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.

This position is based on a 7 day on, 7 day off dayshift only roster, and is residential to Kalgoorlie.

The future here is bright; you could be part of it.
