An Assistant/Trainee Laboratory Manager is responsible for assisting with accreditation and Health and Safety regulations in and around the laboratory; verify correct test methods, report deviations, adhere to the SGS management system; assist technicians on site or inside the laboratory, perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by the authorized site supervisor/laboratory manager and regional manager; ensure operations continue in the absence of the Laboratory Manager; support payroll instruction, leave forms and other administrative duties; provide training to reporting staff as needed. This role is based at various sites in South Africa (Pretoria region) and involves work across soils, asphalt, seals, concrete/aggregate.
