The Master Thesis Program connects talented students with real business challenges across Coloplast. As a participant, you will work closely with experienced professionals, gain access to relevant insights and stakeholders, and contribute perspectives that can help shape future business decisions. All available Master Thesis Program 2027 projects can be found here: Denmark - Coloplast A/S Jobs
Hosting Team & Department Your project will be anchored in the Digitalization Team, a key part of the Operational Excellence function within Global Operations. In this role, you will contribute your academic insights toward advancing and harnessing AI capabilities in a highly regulated medtech environment.
Project Description As Coloplast continues to expand its use of AI, your input will be critical in helping us harvest the technology’s full value in Global Operations. With several AI initiatives already underway—and more planned—the focus is on integrating the latest academic research with practical, real-world applications. Given our regulated production of medical devices, applying AI brings unique challenges around documentation, transparency, and risk management.
We invite you to challenge historical decisions and recommend a future direction in tackling key questions such as:
• What are the major AI opportunities for a global operations function? • Which obstacles may hinder the full potential of AI integration? • How can we manage the inherent “black box” elements of AI while ensuring compliance? • What guiding principles should shape our rapidly evolving AI roadmap? • How can we balance the high stakeholder expectations with industry realities?
Relevant Study Backgrounds We are seeking students with strong academic backgrounds in areas such as engineering, computer science, business analytics, or comparable fields. The successful candidate will be eager to apply theoretical insights to address practical challenges and drive the integration of AI into our Global Operations.
Preferred Competencies or Interests The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with a genuine passion for leveraging AI to enhance operational processes. A customer-centric mindset and the ability to navigate both technical and regulatory challenges are key to contributing innovative and strategic insights on a global scale.
Sponsor(s) Your project will be supported by Senior Director Jens Lanng Nielsen, leading the global digital strategy in our Global Operations unit. Working closely with him and the Digitalization Team, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights and mentorship from professionals dedicated to advancing AI initiatives in a regulated, high-impact environment.
What to Expect from Us As a participant in the Master Thesis Program, you can expect: • A dedicated Coloplast sponsor who will support and guide you throughout your project • Access to relevant business stakeholders, data and insights needed for your research, where possible and appropriate • Ongoing feedback from Coloplast professionals through structured feedback sessions • Learning activities designed to support your thesis journey and professional development • Networking opportunities with fellow MTP participants and Coloplast employees • Office facilities at our global headquarters in Humlebæk, Denmark • A laptop and access to relevant systems and resources during the project period • Exposure to real business challenges and the opportunity to create meaningful impact
Your Application Should Include • Your CV • A short cover letter that tells us: • Which project(s) you are interested in – and why (maximum 2 projects per student/group) • Why you would be a great fit for Coloplast • If you are applying with another student as a group, their full name • All group members must apply individually and clearly flag the group in the cover letter • Academic transcripts
