Location: Guam Department: Hotel-Kitchen
Job requirement:
This is local hire only.
This is a three-year apprenticeship and will require: Attend classroom lecture at Guam Community Colleague (GCC) or obtained equivalent class credit as per program requirement (minimum 480 credit hours of classroom lecture)
Work approximately 34 hours per week at hotel (Total OJT Hours: 6,000)
Must be 18-year-old and has High School Diploma
Bona fide resident of Guam not less than three years
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
Agree to terms and conditions of the Program
GCC Culinary Students are welcome.
To be rotated through all core aspects of hotel kitchen operations in accordance with the Guam Registered Apprentice Program (GRAP).
Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in standard recipes. Be mindful during preparation and operation, when working with food and materials, to minimize waste at full-service hotel. Promote teamwork and quality service through regular communication and coordination with managers, team members, and other departments. Follows safety and security procedures and policies; reports maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuries; completes safety training and certifications; and properly stores flammable materials. Ensures that uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. Maintains confidentiality and protects company assets.
Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others, supports team to reach common goals, and listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Speaks to others using clear and professional language.
Moves, lifts, carries, push/pulls objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Moves up/down stairs, ladders, service ramps. Able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
