Job Description
Objective:
Support the Engineering team by assisting with technical analyses, project activities, and engineering reviews while gaining practical experience in utility operations and infrastructure development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
As an engineering intern at WVPA you will:
Assist with various engineering calculations and studies following good engineering and utility practices.
Review engineering deliverables including: design prints, study reports, equipment specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents.
Examine calculations, studies, and design packages performed by both internal and external engineering staff
Support substation/transmission line project teams through procurement and construction management activities
Interface with Member Cooperatives related to engineering services on various distribution matter
Qualifications
Education/Experience Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled at a college or university in an ABET accredited program
Completion of at least two years towards a Bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering.
Preferred Education/Experience:
Coursework in Power Systems is a plus
