The Software Development Engineer Intern supports Agile development teams by contributing to software development, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role participates in Scrum ceremonies, team meetings, and feature development efforts across web, mobile, API, and data-driven applications while gaining hands-on experience with modern engineering practices.

The intern also assists with DevOps tooling enhancements, vulnerability remediation, and production support activities focused on reliability, scalability, and product quality. This position provides exposure to the full software development lifecycle and opportunities to collaborate on innovative technology solutions.

In this role you will:

Attend and participate in scrum events (the sprint, daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review, sprint retrospective)

Participate in team or departmental meetings

Assist with vulnerabilities remediation

Assist with building/improvement of DevOps tooling (e.g., pipelines, static scanning etc.)

Complete the internship program final capstone presentation

Maintai a production-first mindset focused on scale, uptime and ability to rapidly triage/resolve production issues

Invest in our Agile practice to continuously improve product quality, time to market

Learn to develop product features for any of the following: data marketplaces, mobile applications, web applications, and API services

What makes You an ideal candidate?

Junior or Senior classification preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills required. This incumbent will be required to give presentations and communicate with business leaders.

Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and conceptual skills required.

Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Must be able to work independently or in a team setting.

Additional Knowledge and Skills

Working effectively within an AI enabled environment:

Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work

Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias

Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights

Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation

Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection

AI Skills Preferred

Experience with AI-assisted software development or automation

Knowledge of prompting techniques to improve output quality

Awareness of emerging GenAI capabilities and limitations

Work Experience and Education:

Must be a student pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics with at least one semester remaining upon start of the internship.

Must possess a minimum of a 3.0 (out of a 4-point scale) GPA.

Previous internships are considered a plus
