Join Our Thriving Team at Lubrizol as a Mechanical Testing Co-Op
Unleash Your Potential. At Lubrizol we're transforming the chemical industry and looking for exceptional talent to join us on this journey. If you are ready to join an international company with talent around the world, and want to make a real impact, we want you on our team.
What You'll Do:
As a Lubrizol mechanical testing co-op student, you will rotate through a number of different assignments based on your interests and on the company’s needs. Lubrizol believes in providing you with a wide variety of experiences as well as increasing your responsibilities as you progress through the program. You will be an important part of Lubrizol’s testing team. You will support various types of laboratory tests and engineering projects. Engineering support is needed in the areas of sensor technology, fuels, lubricants and emissions research for two-cycle, gasoline and heavy-duty diesel engines. You also may work with stationary test rigs for stressing numerous drivetrain lubricants, such as automatic transmission fluids and automotive gear oils. Assignments can include working with two-cycle gasoline and diesel engines, manual, automatic, and continuously variable transmissions, hydraulic pumps, tractor and automotive axles
You will gain a basic knowledge of the testing qualification for performance fluids and enjoy positive team interaction. In future work terms, projects will be team efforts that involve people from different areas of the company who are unified by one common goal. Strong relationships are established between technicians and support groups, such as lab maintenance, machine shop and instrumentation, and are extremely important. These relationships with co-workers will help you when you gain responsibility in future assignments

As your knowledge grows with your school curriculum, so will the scope of future projects. You will become directly involved with engineers in the support of test lab projects
You will work with engineering teams on a variety of tasks. Projects may include, but are not limited to, specification testing for performance lubricants, research testing for fuels and emissions, developing new procedures or test rig designs, designing, or improving control systems and problem solving.
