What You'll Do

Cross-train through the department to learn hands-on skills related to industrial/engineering technologies

Identify, evaluate, and recommend cost saving opportunities by identifying process, quality and safety related improvement projects

Work closely with other on the CMC Team work on process improvement initiatives & projects

Completes special projects as assigned by their manager, to include analysis and change continuous improvement recommendations as requested

Ability to troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others

Support lab standardization and document control activities

Perform chemical analysis of steel samples and physical testing of products

Perform visual, cutting/grinding, or non-destructive testing for product inspection and evaluation

Prepare and perform chemistry tests for samples taken from heat samples and when necessary billets and test bars

Verify test results against product specifications and support billet heat traceability activities

Cut, prepare, and inspect samples from all rolled products for dimension, weight and workmanship at the rolling process

Communicate inspection results in real time to the proper supervisor

Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture

What You'll Need

Must possess a strong interest in Industrial Engineering Technologies and be enrolled at Junior/Senior level education

Able to work a flexible schedule to include 40 hour work weeks during summer (June-August)

Able to work independently, take initiative and drive for results with minimal supervision

Ability to understand and apply ISO work instructions and standard operating practices and procedures

Must have Intermediate skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc),

Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces

Push and pull up to 90 lbs and carry 50 lbs

Strong communication skills required. Must read, speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication

Previous internship experiences preferred

Your Education

Currently enrolled in an Industrial Engineering or Operations Management program. (Junior/Senior level preferred).

High School Diploma or GED required
