Research Assistant at Providence Portland Medical Center. This posting represents Full-Time, Day Schedule.

The Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) will function under the supervision of the Clinical Research Supervisor and collaborate with the Clinical Research Nurses, Investigators, Coordinators, and Assistants in coordinating lab activities for clinical research studies of cancer, infectious diseases, critical care medicine, and other diseases/conditions treated and studied at Providence. This is not a clinical position, nor is it patient-facing.  General tasks include but are not limited to: prepare lab kits,  coordinate collection within various departments (including but not limited to: Oncology, CT/MRI, RadOnc, inpatient wards, and external partners) and process biological specimens including but not limited to human blood, urine, sputum, feces and/or tissue ensuring compliance with study protocol and lab manual requirements; ship/track biospecimen according to local and federal shipping regulations and IATA guidelines; study lab kit inventory upkeep; submit imaging and pathology requests; review study protocol, lab manuals, and amendments; answer queries; submit study feasibility and time estimates.  The CRA interacts closely with institutional investigators, industry sponsors, contract research organizations, NCTN research bases, clinic staff, laboratory staff, and pathology staff. The CRA collaborates with fellow clinical research staff throughout the duration of the study to ensure high quality and efficient study conduct.

Required qualifications:

Associate's Degree Or equivalent educ/experience.

Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.

Preferred qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree.

Clinical research experience.

Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs).

Laboratory experience.
