As a Research & Development Engineering Co-op within the Interventional Cardiology division, you’ll support projects spanning exploratory research to new product development, including work on next-generation single-use and capital equipment devices. This role offers hands-on experience with real-world problem solving, design, and system-level engineering, with responsibilities tailored to your strengths. We’re looking for a motivated engineer ready to contribute meaningful solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced med-tech environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Design, fabricate, and prototype new device concepts to address clinical feedback

Develop new and innovative test methods for in vitro device testing

Assist new product development teams with device design and testing

Perform troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process

Research and analyze clinical and market data to identify new market opportunities

At times you will be asked to work independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet business timelines and provide updates to other team members

Required qualifications:

Must graduate between Fall 2027 – Spring 2029

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate level degree majoring in Biomedical OR Mechanical Engineering

Must be able to commit to the co-op program dates January 11th – August 13th

Must be available to work full-time (up to 40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, on-site five days per week

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization

Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove, MN Boston Scientific Corporate location

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with medical device systems or laboratory research

Highly self-motivated and able to manage schedule to meet critical deadlines

Independent thinker and skilled problem solver

Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
