Spring 2027 externship with the ACLU of Northern California's Legal Advocacy Department in Criminal Law & Immigration Project. Externs will conduct legal and policy research and analysis; assist with drafting advocacy materials and portions of court documents and pre-litigation letters; support legislative or local campaigns; and may attend hearings and meetings with policymakers. Location flexibility includes in-person, remote, or hybrid work near San Francisco, Fresno, or Sacramento, with remote work available for students not in proximity. Applicants must be enrolled in law school or a related graduate program and demonstrate a commitment to criminal justice and immigrants’ rights; externships require academic credit.
