What You Will Do Elevate your engineering career by helping design and develop next-generation flight deck display systems for large commercial aircraft! As a Systems Engineering Co-op in our Avionics Boeing Platforms department, you will collaborate with experienced systems, software, and hardware engineers to create high-integrity avionics display solutions that are safe, intuitive, and reliable. In this hands-on role, you will participate across the entire development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and system modeling to integration, verification, and flight-critical testing—helping shape the future of commercial aviation.

This position is an onsite role located in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to design, model, and integrate avionics display solutions for commercial air transports.

Develop and execute comprehensive, system-level operational test procedures for flight deck display systems.

Design, code, and test software utilities and automation scripts to support system integration, verification, and validation activities.

Participate in requirements capture, system architecture trade studies, and traceability analyses across the engineering lifecycle.

Support hardware-software bench integration, troubleshooting, and anomaly investigation in specialized avionics test laboratories.

Apply commercial aviation development standards and processes, such as ARINC 661, ARINC 664, and ARP4754.

What You Will Learn:

·         Implementation of multiple phases of the system development lifecycle including requirements capture, system design and modeling, integration, system verification and validation

·         Application of industry standards and processes, such as ARINC 661, ARINC 664, and ARP-4754

Qualifications You Must Have:

·         Must be  pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) discipline

·         Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is required

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Qualifications We Prefer:

·         Experience with at least one programming or scripting language

·         Experience with software development concepts, including coding, debugging, testing, or software design

·         Have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
