Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position). To assist the Chemical Hygiene Officer with the updating of the college’s online chemical safety data & chemical inventory system, and resupplying lab safety items.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Chemical Hygiene Officer with data entry into college’s online chemical safety data inventory system, and resupplying lab safety items.
Search for and upload chemical safety data information for newly acquired chemicals.
Conduct inventory audits of existing chemicals housed within RNS.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills): Current St. Olaf College student; familiarity with Excel or other spreadsheet applications preferred.
Physical and Environmental Factors: This position requires crouching, stooping, twisting/pivoting, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, and lifting objects up to 20 lbs. to perform the essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Required dress attire for this role is lab-appropriate attire: closed-toe & closed-heel shoes, long pants.
This position will be primarily working at a desk with a computer and will include typing/data entry. It also requires the physical ability to freely move about a room when conducting onsite inventories of small (closed) chemical containers (including reaching overhead/twisting, grasping/pushing/pulling, crouching down, lifting small boxes that may weigh up to 20 lbs). Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
