Job Description

We are looking for an Azure Cloud Security & Monitoring Intern to design and develop a proof-of-concept Azure sandbox environment focused on cloud infrastructure monitoring, security, and compliance. This position will be Part-Time and Remote.

What You'll Do

Design and build a proof-of-concept Azure sandbox environment for monitoring, security, and compliance initiatives

Research Azure-native security, governance, and compliance best practices

Configure Azure resource monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities

Implement and evaluate Azure-native compliance and security control capabilities

Develop dashboards, reports, or visualizations to present monitoring and compliance data

Document architecture, configuration decisions, findings, and lessons learned

Analyze estimated cloud costs and identify optimization opportunities within the proof-of-concept environment

Present findings, recommendations, and potential future implementation opportunities to stakeholders

Collaborate with technical team members to validate design decisions and project outcomes

What You'll Need

Required:

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field

Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts and Azure services

Knowledge of basic cybersecurity principles, monitoring, and compliance concepts

Ability to learn new technologies and troubleshoot technical issues independently

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to document technical findings and present recommendations clearly

Preferred:

Experience with Microsoft Azure through coursework, labs, certifications, or personal projects

Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, or related Azure services

Understanding of cloud governance, risk management, or compliance frameworks

Exposure to infrastructure-as-code concepts or automation tools

Experience creating dashboards, reports, or data visualizations

Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification or preparation toward certification

Physical Demands

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person

Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
