Stantec’s multi-disciplinary office in Naples, Florida has an opportunity for a Civil Engineer Intern to join our Infrastructure team.

We are seeking a candidate with experience in professional practice and design related to land development/community development. This position will be involved with significant projects, interact with clients and government agencies and effectively working with a team.

Responsibilities include design and preparation of site, grading, drainage, erosion control and utility plans as well as design reports. Your Key Responsibilities

Supports project team in development of design documentation, plans, and reports for relevant project design elements.

Prepares and revises documentation required for land development permitting through local, state and federal jurisdictions.

Performs quality reviews for documents in various project phases including construction plans, reviewing agency submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports.

Assist in preparing engineering calculation reports including but not limited to: stormwater design, potable water design, sanitary sewer design, and roadway design.

Attends project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.

Takes sufficient notes at all meetings in order to organize efforts and follow through with requested deliverables

Coordinates and keeps consistent communication with other disciplines to ensure entire design team has same design intent and is on schedule

Prepares and coordinates submittals to permitting entities

Assists in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other construction administration tasks.

Assists in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.

Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating.

Performs calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.

Ready to step in and assist with any of design teams tasks in order to complete project on time and with quality design.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Self-starter with diligent work ethic and strong attention to detail

Effective communication skills and ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought

Ability to visualize three-dimensional concepts and layouts from diagrams or drawings

Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and proficient with relevant software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, WaterCAD, StormWise (ICPR4), etc.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.

2+ years of relevant design experience preferred.

Engineer Intern (EIT) License is required.
