Marketing Intern - Year in Industry

Location: Flexible, United Kingdom

Join us, be part of more.

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

At Centrica, we're not just adapting to the future of energy, we're shaping it – and we’re looking for curious minds, fresh perspectives and ambitious early talent to help us make it happen.

As a Marketing Intern, you'll spend a year gaining hands-on experience and working on meaningful projects that contribute to real business outcomes.

From day one, you'll be part of the team, tackling genuine challenges and building valuable technical and professional skills. It's an opportunity to put your learning into practice, develop future-ready skills and gain insight into where a career in Marketing could take you.

Why Marketing?

From understanding customer needs to shaping innovative products and services, Marketing gives you the opportunity to see how we attract, engage and retain customers in a rapidly changing energy landscape.

During your Year in Industry, you’ll gain hands-on experience in an area such as marketing, customer insight, analytics, product management, sustainability or innovation. You’ll contribute to real work and projects, developing practical skills in areas such as customer research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement and creative problem-solving. It’s an opportunity to build your commercial awareness, put your university learning into practice and discover where a future career in Marketing could take you.

Support to help you thrive

We're looking for potential, not perfection. That's why you'll be supported every step of the way through structured development opportunities, experienced mentors and line managers, dedicated graduate learning, buddy support and a network of graduates from across the business.

With offices across the UK and a hybrid approach to working, flexibility is an important part of our graduate and intern programmes. You’ll need to be open to travel when required and, for some placements, relocation, giving you the opportunity to experience different teams, locations and parts of our business.

What we need from you

Expecting a minimum 2:1 degree (2:2 if combined with a Masters)

Have the right to work in the UK, prior to commencing work

Curious, proactive and keen to learn
