Responsible for performing multiple duties that require experience in the assembly, transport, disinfection, calibration and troubleshooting of respiratory related equipment. The Respiratory Student Extern works under the direction of a Respiratory Therapist. The extern is responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of equipment in the various work areas and assisting Respiratory Therapists with various procedures and tasks as directed.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent Actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program Preferred: 2nd year Respiratory Therapy student with previous healthcare experience
Experience: Previous experience with assembly and cleaning or respiratory equipment
License: NA
Certifications: BLS/CPR (AMERICAN HEART ASSN) ACLS & PALS prior to graduation
